Common Questions About Scheduling and Insurance
How do I book an appointment at Spark Eye Care?
Call (512) 377-1076 during business hours or request an appointment through the contact form on our website. Existing patients can also manage appointments through the secure patient portal.
What insurance do you accept?
We accept most major medical insurance plans, including Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna, United Healthcare, Humana, Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare. If you do not see your plan listed, call our office and we will verify coverage. For questions about vision plan coverage, please call as well.
Do I need a referral to see an ophthalmologist?
It depends on your plan. Many patients can schedule directly, while some plans, particularly HMO plans and certain Medicare Advantage plans, require a referral from your primary care physician. We verify this when you schedule and can coordinate with your doctor's office if a referral is needed.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Please give at least 24 hours' notice so we can offer your time to another patient. Missed appointments without notice may result in a fee. If an emergency comes up, call us and we will work with you.
Do you offer online video consultations?
Yes, for select visits such as post-operative follow-ups, dry eye symptom evaluation, medication adjustments, and reviewing test results. First-time consultations, comprehensive exams, imaging, and surgical evaluations require an in-person visit. Ask when you book whether a video visit is appropriate.
